On the 23rd of March 1911 a petition was signed and presented to the Most Worshipful Grand Master praying for a warrant of constitution and powering a Lodge to meet as a regular Lodge at the Great Eastern Hotel Liverpool Street London EC, on the fourth Thursday in January March June September and November and was to be called Wanstead Lodge.
Having been granted the Warrant, The lodge was consecrated in the temple at Great Eastern Hotel on Tuesday May the 30th 1911 and registered as 3524 in the Register of the Grand Lodge of England.
On 10 October 1917 a group of distinguished brethren of the Wanstead Lodge were at a meeting; they agreed to the proposal that a Royal Arch Chapter to be called the Wanstead Chapter be formed.
On the 3rd June 1918 – The first meeting of the founders held at the Great Eastern Hotel Liverpool St London to consider advisability of asking the WM, Past Masters and brethren of the Wanstead Lodge to support a petition to Supreme Grand Chapter of RA Masons for permission to form a RA Chapter attached to Wanstead Lodge. It was agreed to adjourn the meeting and for E.C. Stubbings and E.C. Cockcroft to bring the matter before the members of the Wanstead Lodge.
On the 8th July 1918 – The second founders meeting held at Great Eastern Hotel. E.C. Stubbings reported the lodge signed a petition to Supreme Grand Chapter, the Principals and Officers to be appointed were listed including: E.Comp Cockcroft Z, E.Comp Hopping H, E.Comp Stubbings J and E.Comp Mardle Scribe E.
